Grenzen by Chris McHart

Blurb:

But Julian isn’t an average guy, he’s a Dom. And he wants Ryan to be his sub.
That’s something Ryan has dreamt of, but never admitted to anyone, not even himself. With Julian it suddenly becomes possible.
But what happens once Ryan has to go home, especially since he’s developing feelings for Julian?
There isn’t a future for a relationship if you’re half a world apart…

Excerpt:
A sausage seller’s stall caught my eye. Or rather, the seller did, and then the aroma hit me. My mouth watered just thinking of tasting some of the delicious smelling sausages roasting in front of him. This time, I wriggled through the crowd, determined to take a closer look at the guy preparing the food. He was young, about my age, with dark, tousled hair and a sexy smile.
The line wasn’t too long, and before I had time to figure out what exactly to say with my limited German vocabulary, it was my turn.
“Hallo. Was darf’s sein?”
I was pretty sure the guy had asked what I wanted to eat. “Hello. Ein—” What the hell was that word? I searched for a price chart. Bratwurst. Great. That helped a lot. Was it spoken the same way as in English? I had no idea.
“Oh, you speak English? You want three sausages in a roll?” he asked in good, although slightly accented English.
“Uh, yes, please.” Heat crept up on my face. The guy grinned at me and prepared my food. Up close the aroma of the sausages was even better, a tantalizing grilled scent mixed with something I couldn’t define. I could almost taste them before I even had my order.

Never Wrong by Chris McHart

I am excited to have my critique group partner, Chris McHart, and her new release from MLR Press, on the blog today!

Blurb

Jeff was raised to believe love between two men is wrong. Or is it? Can love ever be wrong?
When Jeff meets the much younger Dean, he only knows he wants him, consequences be damned. But things are not as easy, especially after Jeff's ex calls and announces big news.
And Dean? He thinks the new neighbor is hot, but he's not interested in something more than a rebound fuck. That's what he tells himself, at least.
But lust isn't a good basis for a relationship, more so since Jeff isn't sure whether he can deal with being gay.
Love is never wrong, but can Jeff accept that?

Excerpt

What the hell possessed me to buy so much shit?
I stood in front of my car’s open trunk, and tried to work out how the hell to get all this stuff up to my fifth floor apartment. Without an elevator, of course. The nice guy at the store had packed most of it in bags, but there were about eight of them. Along with a few items that were too big to fit into bags. I was going to have to make a lot of trips up and down the stairs. Damn.
I should have bought a few things at a time, not everything the first day. It figured I’d go overboard, trying to make my new apartment as comfortable as possible. Understandable though, since this was the first time I was totally, completely on my own, but I might’ve gotten a bit too much.
You’re my new neighbor, aren’t you?”
The deep voice, coming from behind me, shot shivers down my spine. I turned. My gaze traveled up and down the man standing in front of me, and holy shit. Short, dark brown hair with grey at the temples highlighted the sharp features of his good-looking, angular face. And he had a body that made me want to beg. I didn’t know what to beg for, just that I wanted to. Damn. Muscles defined his arms, not too obvious, but clearly there. Along with the slight padding on his hips, his appearance gave me the impression that he might work out, but was definitely not obsessed with it. He was somewhere around the age of forty, forty-five, if I guessed right. A man of my tastes.
What I wouldn’t give to be allowed to run my fingers over his stomach, trace the hairs that grew there, up to his chest, where the dark curls peeked out from under his shirt. And then down to his cock, likely nestled in the same coarse hair, standing ready for me. His matted torso would contrast so nicely with my sparsely haired chest. The hairs would tickle my nipples and my stomach, right down to where I wanted to feel his touch most.

Categories: Contemporary, Fantasy, M/M Romance, Paranormal, Romance, Urban Fantasy

Excerpt:
“You don’t need to come with me.” Theo fought clenched teeth. The selkie was a friend of Mr. Sandoval’s and Finn’s, too—Finn who had been so kind to him after accidentally squashing him in dragon form. No need to be rude.
“Quite all right. I’ve nothing better to do.”
“You can’t come with me,” Theo said in the chilliest, sternest tone he could muster.
“Oh, of course I can. I see quite well at night.”
Theo squeezed his eyes shut against the headache. It shouldn’t have been there. He’d fed that morning and napped the rest of the day in lethargic, sated bliss. Fine. He’ll get bored and leave soon. “All right. But you have to be quiet.”
“Yes, yes, of course. In case something bad is here. A pack of nixes maybe. Oh, they’re bad. Or a kraken tries to swim close and ambush you, yes? You’re a real warrior, then? Have you seen many battles? Do you have scars? I have scars, but only because I was very young—”
“Limpet.” Theo stopped and took the selkie’s chin in his hand, holding his head still. “Whispering is not being quiet.”
“Right you are. Sorry. You have beautiful eyes.”
Theo dropped his hand and walked away, shaking his head. It was going to be long night.
