Guest Spot: Alicia Joseph talking about Her Name

I am so exited to host Alicia Joseph to talk about her debut novel, Her Name!

Thank you, Dean, for having me as your guest today. I’m honored to be here!

My debut novella called Her Name, just released this past Friday. It’s a very exciting time that every writer dreams about, but then it happens, and you ask yourself, “Okay, now what?” Lol. Truly, this is where the real work begins.

As grueling of a process writing can be, I don’t consider it work because I love doing it, but promoting and getting yourself known as a writer -- that is work!

Her Name is a story about a woman, Madison, who believes the woman she dreams about is the real love of her life. Her dreams become more vivid as they recreate moments taken from her actual life and Madison becomes certain this woman is her destiny. She searches for her and seems to know everything about her…except her name.

I was inspired to write this story because I’m intrigued by the idea of fate. Do we choose our own destiny? Or are our lives already predetermined the moment we are born? This story challenges the theory of fate a bit, while also supporting the notion that some things are meant to be.

In Her Name, the universe has aligned the stars so that Madison and the woman in her dreams can meet in real life, but the universe can’t force them to see each other. Fate only takes them so far. They have to make the decision whether or not to open their eyes.

As Madison searches for the woman in her dreams, will her eyes be open to what the universe is trying to show her?

Thanks again for having me, Dean! Her Name is available now. You can find it on Amazon or at Musapublishing.com
